A court in Gazipur has sentenced five people to death in a murder case of businessman Mohiuddin of Kaliganj upazila in the district.
Judge Fazle Elahi Bhuyan of Gazipur Additional District and Sessions court passed the order at 12.30pm on Wednesday.
Mokbul Hussain Kajol, Additional Public Prosecutor in Gazipur confirmed the matter to Jagonews24.com.
The court also filed them TK ten thousand each.
The convicts are: Shamim, son of Abdul Kadir, Nurul Islam, son of Babu Molla, Saddam Hussain, son of Mojnu Sarker, Shafiqul, son of Abdus Salam and Babu, son of Chomir Uddin.
On October 16, 2008, Mohiuddin went out of his home over a phone call. Later his body was recovered near a Beel.
Later his father, Fazlur Rahman filed a murder case with Kaliganj Police Station. After the investigation, police submitted the charge sheets accusing five people.
