Stocks see up on large-cap vibe

Stocks saw upward trend on Monday as major indices of both Dhaka and Chittagong Stock exchanges were found rising trend with higher activities of large-cap securities. 

The rising major sectors were textile, financial institution and IT sector. A total of 236 large cap securities moved up on higher activities.

The broader DSEX index of the DSE closed the session with 80.37 points up at 5,827.52, reports BSS. 

The Shariah DSES and the blue-chip DS30 also followed the same trend with 15.49 points up at 1,355.37 and with 26.71 points up at 2,176.72.

The vStocks see up on large-cap vibeolume of shares rose to 19.89 crore from Sunday's 15.23 crore shares and the daily turnover in value at DSE increased to Taka 599.67 crore from Sunday's Taka 441.01 crore.

At DSE, out of the day's 338 traded issues, price of 298 securities closed higher against 25 losing issues.

The major gaining issues were Shasha Denims, ICB, Daffodil Computer, CAPMBDBLMF and CAPMIBBLMF. 

The major losing issues were KPPL, Premier Cement, Zaheen Spinning, Standard Insurance and PHARMAID. Beximco topped the turnover leaders followed by Lanka Bangla Finance, Unique HRL, Mercantile Bank and BD Com.

The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) closed the day of the week with upward trend with its major CASPI 276.29 points up at 17,980.70. 

At CSE, 240 issues were traded. Of those, 187 closed higher and 38 closed lower when 2.61 crore shares worth Taka 86.16 crore changed hands.
