Sohagur Rahman Rana, the prime suspect in a case over the murder of Sagar Dutta, a college student in Cumilla city, has been arrested on Saturday.
Acting on a tip-off, memebers a team of Detective Branch of police conducted a drive and arrested him from Dhaka.
Details will be informed later over the arrest at a press conference.
Sub-inspector of DB police Shah Kamal Akand who participated in the drive confirmed it to Jago News.
He said: “Prime accused in Sagar Datta murder case has been arrested. The honorable Police Super will inform reporters in details at a press conference over the matter.”
On last Thursday morning, Sagar Dutta was found dead with his throat slit and another with a bullet injury at a students’ mess in Cumilla. He was a student of Cumilla Government College.
Later, his father Sankar Dutta filed a case over the murder on Thursday night.
