Arm losing student Rajib dies

Titumir College student Rajib Hossain, who was undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital after losing one of his hands in an accident between two buses in the capital, died in the wee hours of Tuesday.

He breathed his last at 12.30am, Rajib’s aunty Lipi Akter told Jago News.

Rajib had been placed on life support for last seven days as he began experiencing difficulty breathing at the ICU around 4am on April 10.

He also seemed less ‘conscious’ of his surroundings.

On April 10, Rajib was standing on the rear gate of a packed BRTC double-decker on his way to college when a Sajan Paribahan bus was overtaking it and in the friction his right hand was severed from the wrist while the upper arm also sustained serious injuries exposing the bones.

He was rushed to Shamorita Hospital from where he was shifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital on April 11.
