BNP leaders who did not get posts in newly formed Dhaka North city committee staged protest in front of party’s Nayapaltan central office in Dhaka.
Terming the committee as illegal, the post-deprived leaders and activists brought out a procession at 11am on Wednesday and demanded the cancellation of the committee.
City BNP vice president Ferdous Ahmed Misty, joint secretary Samim Parvej, organizing secretary Sohel Rahman led the demonstration while chanted slogans ‘We don’t accept the illegal committee’, ‘illegal committee must be cancelled’.
However, police dispersed demonstrates while arrested three leaders of city BNP unit.
But, the identities of detainees couldn’t be known yet.
On the other hand, at the same time, leaders who got post in the newly formed committee chanted different slogans in front of party’s Nayapaltan office and greeted BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi with flowers.
On June 3, BNP has formed the new committee of Dhaka City North unit. Since the formation of the committee, a group of BNP leaders and activists are accusing of money transactions in giving post in the committee.
