BNP trying to create issue centering Khaleda’a treatment: Quader

Road Transport and Bridges Minister and Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader today said the BNP leaders are trying to create a political issue centering the treatment of party’s Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia, reports BSS.

“Creating political issue is more important to them (BNP leaders) than Khaleda Zia’s physical condition. After the Eid, BNP wants to capitalize the matter as an excuse to wage movement,” he told newsmen while exchanging Eid greetings with ministry officials and employees at his secretariat office here.

Quader said according to jail code, BNP leaders cannot meet Khaleda Zia every day.

“You should remember that it is jail, it is not a residence. The BNP leaders cannot meet Khaleda Zia regularly. Family members can meet her. They went and they met her,” he added.

About the treatment of Begum Khaleda Zia, the minister said CMH is a hospital with maximum facilities. “We do not know why she does not want to receive treatment from there,” he added.

About overseas visits of BNP leaders, Quader said they don’t have faith in people so they are visiting different countries.

The government has every information about them, he added.
