Cumilla arson case: Khaleda gets bail for 6-month

The High Court has granted 6-month bail for BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia in a murder case filed over the arson attack on a bus in Cumilla that killed eight people in 2015.

A bench of Justice AK M Asaduzzaman and Justice SM Mozibur Rahman passed the order on Monday.

Earlier on August 1, the high court fixed August 6 to deliver its verdict after hearing the bail petition filed by Khaleda Zia.

Eight people were killed and 20 others injured when miscreants hurled a petrol bomb at a bus at Jogmohanpur in Chouddagram of Cumilla district during the BNP-led alliance's movement on February 3, 2015.

Two cases were filed in this connection against Khaleda.

On February 8 last, Khaleda Zia was sent to jail after a special court sentenced her to five years' rigorous imprisonment in the Zia Orphanage Trust graft case.
