The fire that broke out at a plastic warehouse in the capital's Lalbagh area on Thursday night was doused within two hours.
The fire originated at the two buildings of the plastic warehouse at Alighat around 11:30pm and it soon engulfed the nearby rooms, said Nazma Akhter, a duty officer at the Fire Service and Civil Defence headquarters.
On information, 15 firefighting units rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control at 6:50am.
The cause of the fire as well as the extent of losses could not yet be ascertained.
However, there was no causality.
