The High Court has directed BNP’s vice chairman Sadeque Hossain Khoka’s son Ishrak Hossain and daughter Sarika Sadeque before the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate’s Court in Dhaka by four weeks for not submitting their wealth statements.
A HC bench of Justice Md. Nazrul Islam Talukder and Justice KM Hafizul Alam on Thursday passed the order after a hearing on a bail petition.
Barrister Ajmalul Hossain QC represented the siblings in the court during the hearing.
Lawyer Khurshid Alam Khan represented the Anti-Corruption Commission while Deputy Attorney General AKM Amin Uddin Manik was present for the state.
The Anti-Corruption Commission filed two cases against the siblings with Ramna Police Station in 2010 for not submitting wealth statements.
Earlier on Wednesday, a Dhaka court sentenced former Dhaka City Corporation mayor Sadeque Hossain Khoka and three others to 10 years’ imprisonment in absentia in a graft case.
