Former President and the chairperson of Jatiya Party (JaPa) Hussain Muhammad Ershad will fly to Singapore for treatment on Monday night.
He along with JaPa presidium member Jiauddin Bablu will leave Dhaka at 10:45am, his personal secretary and the party’s presidium member Khaled Akhter told Jago News.
Recently, a rumor was spread out about the illness of JaPa chief Ershad ahead of national polls.
Amid the rumor of his illness, Ershad went to the party’s Banani office and talked to the party’s leaders and activists on December 6.
However, JaPa will contest the 11th parliamentary elections in 161 seats including 29 seats from Awami League-led grand alliance.
The national elections will be held on December 30.
