A total of 1,016 platoons of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) were deployed across the country on Tuesday as per the direction of Election Commission (EC) ahead of the 11th general elections slated for December 30.
Muhammd Mohsin Reza, Public Relations Officer of BGB confirmed the matter to Jago News.
However, EC is taking three-tire security measures comprising Police, RAB and other law enforcement agency to control untoward situation during the polls. As part of this army will perform duty as striking force from December 24 to January 1. EC will also send a little team of army to every upazila.
According to the worksheet of the EC, army and air force will have been outside of the polling centres while RAB, BGB and armed police battalion in patrolling as mobile and striking force.
