Student’s death: Suprabhat’s owner, driver and helper sued

A case has been filed against the Suprabhat Paribahan’s owner, driver and helper in connection with the death of Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP) student Abrar Ahmed Chowdhury in a road accident at Pragati Swarani in the capital.

Brig Gen (retd) Arif Ahmed Chowdhury filed the case with Gulshan Police Station on Tuesday night, said Sub-Inspector Khorshed Alam. 

Abrar Ahmed Chowdhury, son of retired brigadier general Arif Ahmed Chowdhury of Bashundhara area and an honours first year student of international relations at BUP, was killed on the spot after Suprabhat Paribahan bus hit him while crossing the Pragati Swarani on Tuesday morning.

As the news spread, students of different universities including BUP, North South University, American International University-Bangladesh, United International University and Independent University, Bangladesh took to the street and blocked the road put buses across the street.
