The officer in-charge of Ashulia Police Station in Savar, Dhaka Rizaul Haque Dipu and four cops working in have been infected with novel coronavirus.
Their sample reports came positive for COVID-19, the disease caused by the virus, on Friday morning, OC Rizaul self confirmed this over phone.
He is in isolation at the police station, the official said, adding that samples of eight more police members were collected for examining.
Savar Upazila Health Complex physician Nazmul Huda Mithu said 387 people, so far, contracted the deadly virus in the upazila. Out of them, 41 patients recovered, and six died.
