Kazi Nazrul’s grandson on life support

National poet Kazi Nazrul Islam’s grandson Babul Kazi, who was hospitalised with severe burn injuries in a fire, has been put on life support as his condition is critical.

Shawon Bin Rahman, resident doctor at the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery, provided this information on Sunday morning, January 19.

Babul Kazi sustained burn injuries after a gas lighter exploded in his Banani house in Dhaka in the early hours of Saturday, January 18.

Later, he was admitted to the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery and taken to the Intensive Care Unit, ICU.

Physicians said 75% of his body was burnt.

A 13-member medical board has been formed for his treatment, Dr Shawon said.
