The Commission of Inquiry on Enforced Disappearances held a meeting with Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus, Chief Adviser to the interim government, on Sunday at 5:30 pm at the State Guest House Jamuna, Dhaka.
During the meeting, Commission members briefed the Chief Adviser on the progress of the investigation into enforced disappearances and requested him to visit the 'Joint Interrogation Cells,' which have become known as 'Aynaghar.'
The Commission members stated that a visit by the Chief Adviser to 'Aynaghar' would provide reassurance and comfort to the victims of enforced disappearances. They also shared gruesome accounts of several such cases with the Chief Adviser, including a report of a six-year-old child being a victim of enforced disappearance, as revealed by their investigation.
In response to the Commission's request, the Chief Adviser said, "The incidents revealed in your investigation are horrifying. I will visit Aynaghar soon."
