Yunus warns of Hasina aides’ efforts to create chaos

Chief Advisor Professor Muhammad Yunus of the interim government has warned that ousted leader Sheikh Hasina's associates are spending large sums of money to instigate chaos and spread misinformation across the country.

"We must remain vigilant at all times," Yunus stressed, urging everyone to combat these disinformation campaigns actively. He instructed security force leaders to stay alert against any attempts to destabilize law and order.

Speaking during a high-level meeting with top security officials at the state guesthouse Jamuna on Monday (February 3), Yunus emphasised, "We must maintain vigilance as if we are in a warzone. This year is crucial for the nation, and no one should be allowed to sow disorder."

He also directed security forces to prioritize protecting human rights while safeguarding religious and ethnic minorities from potential attacks. "Failing to protect our minorities will tarnish our global reputation. Transparency is key," he cautioned.

Additionally, Yunus ordered the police to crack down on extortionists to ensure price stability for essential goods during the holy month of Ramadan, particularly benefiting Muslim communities. His directives aim to bolster national security, uphold human rights, and maintain social harmony during this critical period.
