Second phase of Ijtema for Saad followers concludes

The Bishwa Ijtema of Maulana Saad Kandhalvi’s followers, held on the banks of the Turag River in Tongi, Gazipur, concluded with the Akheri Munajat (final prayer) at 1:08 pm on Sunday, February 16. This marked the end of the second phase of the event.

Earlier, at 12:38 pm, Maulana Yusuf bin Saad, the eldest son of Maulana Saad, led the Munajat.

Before that, a sermon was delivered by Maulana Morsalin (from Delhi Nizamuddin) after Fajr, which was translated into Bengali by Maulana Mufti Azim Uddin of Bangladesh. At around 9:30 am, a sermon on guidance (Hedayat) was given by Maulana Yusuf, with the translation provided by Maulana Munir bin Yusuf from Bangladesh.

The first Ijtema was held at the Kakrail Mosque in 1946. In 1966, the event was moved to its current venue on the banks of the Turag River in Tongi. The first phase of the Ijtema, organized by the Tablighi Jamaat’s Maulana Zobayer group, began on January 31 and concluded with the Akheri Munajat on February 5, lasting six days. After an eight-day break, the second phase of the Ijtema began on February 14, attracting participants from Maulana Saad's followers.
