Metro rail tweaks weekday schedule for Ramadan

The Dhaka Mass Transit Company Ltd (DMTCL) has unveiled a revised weekday schedule for metro rail services ahead of Ramadan, while keeping Friday and Saturday timetables unchanged.

A circular issued on Saturday also permits passengers to carry 250ml water bottles before and after iftar, provided they dispose of them in designated bins—not elsewhere.

Food remains banned on trains, platforms, and concourses.

Under the new weekday plan, trains from Uttara to Motijheel will run every 10 minutes from 7:10am to 7:30am, switch to 8-minute intervals from 7:31am to 6:50pm, and revert to 10 minutes from 6:51pm to 9:00pm.

In the reverse direction, Motijheel to Uttara trains will operate at 10-minute intervals from 7:30am to 8:00am, 8-minute intervals from 8:01am to 7:30pm, and 10-minute intervals from 7:31pm to 9:40pm.

The adjustments aim to ease commuting during the holy month while maintaining strict cleanliness rules.
