A fire that broke out in the Bhashantek BRP slum in the capital has been brought under control. Five units of the Fire Service worked for nearly half an hour to extinguish the blaze.
The information was provided by Fire Service Duty Officer Rafi Al Faruq on Thursday (March 5).
He said the fire was reported in the slum around 11:00 am. Upon receiving the alert, five units of the Fire Service immediately arrived at the scene and worked to control the fire. The fire was brought under control by 11:35 am.
Initially, the Fire Service officer could not provide information on the cause of the fire or details about the extent of the damage or any casualties.
