Professor AAMS Arefin Siddique, former Vice-Chancellor of Dhaka University, is on life support at BIRDEM Hospital in the capital.
His younger brother, Sakrayen Siddique, confirmed this over the phone on Thursday, March 6.
Sakrayen recounted that Arefin Siddique fell while shopping at Dhaka Club Bakery around 2:30pm.
He was rushed to BIRDEM, where tests revealed a head injury and a stroke.
Initially admitted to the ICU, his condition worsened, necessitating ventilation.
