Myanmar agrees to take back 1.80 lakh Rohingyas

Myanmar has agreed to take back around 1,80000 Rohingya refugees from Bangladesh.

The country finally recognised 1,80000 Rohingyas from a list of about 8 lakh Rohingyas as eligible for return to their homeland.

Myanmar provided the list in six phases from 2018 to 2020.

Deputy Prime Minister - Foreign Minister of Myanmar, U Than Swe, said this in a meeting on the sidelines of the 6th BIMSTEC Summit in Bangkok on Friday, April 4.

Chief Adviser's high representative Dr Khalilur Rahman shared this information.

Chief Adviser's Deputy Press Secretary Abul Kalam Azad Mazumder confirmed the matter.
