Six people were killed and at least 34 others injured after a bus overturned and plunged into a roadside ditch in Faridpur’s Sadar on Tuesday, April 8.
The deceased were identified as Joat Sardar, 70, a resident of Shialkandi village, his son Imon Sardar, 22, Bharati Sarkar, 40, and Deepa Khan, 34, of Talma village in Nagarkanda upazila, Alam Sheikh, 45, of Hajiganj area in Charbhardasan upazila, and Ajibar Sheikh, 45, from Fakirpara in Lalmonirhat's Haibandha.
The incident occurred in front of Bakhunda Sharif Jute Mill on the Faridpur-Barishal Highway around 11:15am, Faridpur Fire Service’s senior station officer Md Najrul Islam.
Kotwali police station's officer-in-charge, Md Asaduzzaman, said the bus was carrying around 40 passengers and of them, six were declared dead after taking to Faridpur Medical College Hospital.
