The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) has directed the submission of an investigation report concerning former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina by June 24, in connection with allegations of crimes against humanity during the anti-discrimination student movement in July and August. The directive came in response to a petition filed by the prosecution.
A three-member judicial panel of the tribunal, led by Chairman Justice Md Golam Mortuza Mojumder, issued the order on Sunday (April 20).
On the same day, 19 individuals—including former ministers and state ministers—were produced before the tribunal in connection with alleged crimes against humanity committed during the July-August movement.
Those brought before the tribunal include former Awami League ministers Anisul Huq, Faruk Khan, Dr. Dipu Moni, Abdur Razzak, Shajahan Khan, Golam Dastagir Gazi, Amir Hossain Amu, Kamrul Islam, Rashed Khan Menon, and Hasanul Haq Inu; former advisers to the prime minister Tawfiq-e-Elahi Chowdhury and Salman F Rahman; former state ministers Kamal Ahmed Mojumder and Zunaid Ahmed Palak; former MP Solaiman Selim; former Appellate Division justice AHM Shamsuddin Chowdhury Manik; former Home Secretary Jahangir Alam; former Inspector General of Police Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun; and former Director General of the National Telecommunication Monitoring Center (NTMC), Ziaul Ahsan.
