8,000 asst teacher posts vacant in pry schools, circular soon

Currently, there are more than 8,000 vacant posts of assistant teachers at the government primary schools of the country and more posts would be vacant as around 30,000 assistant ones will get promotion as headmasters quickly.

The Ministry of Primary and Mass Education plans to publish circular soon to recruit teachers in the posts once the difficulties created over the promotion to head teacher post is resolved, according to sources in the ministry and the Directorate of Primary Education, DPE.

According DPE, the government primary schools have now 8,043 posts vacant and the number is increasing everyday. Besides, about 30,000 assistant teachers will be promoted to headmaster post. As a result, a total of around 40,000 assistant teachers will likely to be appointed.

Several officials of the ministry said a promotion related issue is under trial in the High Court. The circular will be revealed when the problem is resolved and new recruitment rules are implemented. 

They hope it would be possible to publish circular this year.
