The Government of Bangladesh expressed deep concern over the escalating conflict between India and Pakistan, urging both nations to remain calm, exercise restraint, and avoid actions that could worsen the situation, according to a Ministry of Foreign Affairs statement released Wednesday.
The statement follows India’s Operation Sindoor airstrikes on May 6–7, targeting alleged terror sites in Pakistan, which Pakistan denounced as attacks on civilians. Bangladesh is closely monitoring developments and emphasized the need for diplomatic efforts to de-escalate tensions. “In the spirit of regional peace, prosperity, and stability, Bangladesh remains hopeful that peace will prevail for the benefit of the region’s peoples,” the statement concluded.
