Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus thanked the United Arab Emirates for resuming visas for Bangladeshi nationals and welcomed investment proposals.
He conveyed the message during a meeting with a high-level UAE delegation led by Sheikh Nahayan Bin Mobarak Al Nahayan, UAE Cabinet Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, at the State Guest House Jamuna on Wednesday.
The delegation, including Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Ahmed Bin Ali Al Sayegh and Under Secretary of Investment Mohammed Abdul Rahman Al Hawi, arrived in Dhaka at 2:45pm, greeted by Chief Adviser’s Special Envoy Lutfey Siddiqi.
“We’re here to express solidarity and strengthen friendship,” Al Nahayan said, affirming collaboration in investment and visa facilitation.
Yunus praised the UAE’s recent issuance of 30–50 daily visit visas, expedited business delegation visas, and reactivation of online skilled employment visas for roles like marketing managers and hotel staff.
He noted 500 security guard visas issued, with 1,000 more approved. “We hope to resolve remaining issues,” Yunus said, welcoming investment in various sectors.
UAE Ambassador Abdullah Ali Al Hmodi and Bangladesh Ambassador Tareq Ahmed attended the brief meeting. The delegation departed Dhaka afterward.
