Shikho secures $8m investment to expand AI-driven education

Startup Bangladesh Limited, under the ICT Ministry, has invested in Shikho, a leading edtech startup, to advance its AI-based education platform.

ICT Secretary and Startup Bangladesh Chairman Shish Haider Chowdhury announced it at his Gulshan office on Wednesday.

The investment, part of an $8 million total raised by Shikho, was formalised through an agreement with Shikho’s founder and CEO, Shahir Chowdhury, though the exact amount was undisclosed.

Shikho, known for its AI-powered, curriculum-aligned Bengali mobile learning platform, aims to strengthen digital education nationwide.

“This government support validates our mission to transform education with AI,” Shahir Chowdhury said.

Shish Haider Chowdhury added, “Shikho aligns with our digital education strategy, accelerating inclusive, quality learning in urban and rural areas.”

Investors Wasiqur Rahman, Kazi Zeeshan Rabeth Hasan, and Kazi Zahin Shahpar Hasan attended the event. The funding will enhance Shikho’s efforts to deliver modern, accessible education across Bangladesh.
