Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) detained 15 Indian nationals, who were pushed into Bangladesh by the Indian Border Security Force (BSF), in different bordering areas in Moulvibazar’s Kamalganj on Wednesday, May 7.
According to BGB sources, the detainees, in primary questioning, said they have been residing in India’s Assam for five years. Suddenly, the country’s police demolished their homes and handed over them to BSF in Manik Bhandar area of Tripura, claiming they are from Bangladesh’s different districts, including Narail and Chattogram.
They also said they were with a group of more than 300 people and the BSF pushed some of them into Bangladesh by Dhalai border. They, however, said they do not know where other persons were taken.
Madhabpur union parishad member (reserved) Bina Rani Deb said the detainees were handed over to the police.
