Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has left Dhaka for Bangkok, the capital of Thailand, to undergo eye treatment.
He departed Dhaka with his wife on a Thai Airways flight at around 2:45 am on Monday (May 12), confirmed BNP Media Cell member Shairul Kabir Khan.
According to Shairul, Mirza Fakhrul will receive treatment at Rutnin Eye Hospital during his stay in Bangkok.
He added that following a check-up at United Hospital in Dhaka on May 11, doctors advised the BNP leader to seek treatment abroad.
Before departing, Mirza Fakhrul expressed his gratitude to the people of the country and prayed to Almighty Allah for a swift recovery.
