Rallies, processions banned around Dhaka Cantonment

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) has announced a ban on all forms of meetings, rallies, processions, and demonstrations in several key areas around the Dhaka Cantonment in the capital, effective from Sunday, May 18, until further notice.

The decision, aimed at ensuring public movement and maintaining order, was detailed in a notification issued by ISPR this afternoon.

The restricted zones include Kachukhet Road, the stretch from Bijoy Sarani to the Chief Adviser’s Office, areas adjacent to Bir Shrestha Shaheed Jahangir Gate, and from BAF Shaheen College to the Mohakhali Flyover vicinity.

The ban also covers Sainik Club intersection, Bhashantek, Matikata, ECB Chattar, and surrounding areas. “This measure is in the interest of public safety and smooth movement,” the ISPR said.
