Actress Nusraat Faria has been arrested at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka in an attempted murder case.
Nusraat Faria was stopped at the airport on Sunday, May 18, when she was going to Bangkok through a flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines as she is an accused in a case filed in connection with an incident occurred in the capital’s Bhatara area during the Anti-Discrimination Students Movement, sources in the Immigration Police said.
Later, she was shown arrested in the case and sent to the office of Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) for questioning, the sources added.
The actress has been taken to DB from airport and has not been handed over yet to Bhatara police station, said officer-in-charge Mazhab Islam.
Nusraat Faria portrayed Sheikh Hasina in Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s biopic "Mujib: The Making of a Nation".
