Laila Parvin Senjuti, former Member of Parliament from a reserved women's seat and the Education and Human Resources Secretary of the Satkhira District Awami League, has been arrested by police.
She was arrested from her residence in Satkhira around 2:30 am on Tuesday (May 19).
Satkhira Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Shaminul Haque confirmed the arrest. He stated that she will be produced before the court after being shown arrested under Sections 15(3) and 25D of the Special Powers Act, 1974, in connection with Case No. 25 dated February 18, 2025, filed with Satkhira Sadar Police Station.
