Saudi to celebrate Eid-ul-Azha on June 6

Saudi Arabia has announced that Wednesday, May 28, will mark the first day of Zilhajj, as the crescent moon was sighted in the Kingdom on Tuesday evening, May 27.

Accordingly, Eid-ul-Azha will be observed on Friday, June 6, as it always falls on the 10th day of Zilhajj, reports Gulf News.

Another middle east country Oman, and Indonesia have also announced that the countries will celebrate Eid-ul-Azha on June 6, while the same in Malaysia and Brunei will be observed on June 7.

The crescent moon of Zilhajj has been sighted and accordingly, June 6 will be the first day of Eid-ul-Azha," quoting Oman News Agency (ONA), reports Times of Oman.

Malaysia’s Conference of Rulers Assistant Secretary Datuk Mohd Aseral Jusman on Tuesday night, May 27, announced that first day of Zilhajj will be on May 29 and as such, Eid-ul-Azha will be observed in the country on June 7, reports The Star.

The Sultanate of Brunei has officially announced that May 28 will be the last day Zilqad as the crescent moon was not sighted and accordingly, Eid-ul-Azha will be celebrated on June 7, reports Gulf News.
