The national budget for 2025-26 fiscal year has proposed a reduction of source tax on internet and mobile services which people concerned see positive for the users.
Finance Adviser Dr Salehuddin Ahmed proposed to reduce source tax on internet service to 5 per cent from 10 per cent and turnover tax rate on mobile operators to 1.5 per cent from 2 per cent.
He made the proposal while unveiling Tk 7.90 lakh crore budget for FY 2025-25 in a televised speech on Monday afternoon, June 2.
