2 dengue deaths, 326 fresh cases recorded in 24 hrs

Two more deaths were reported from dengue in the last 24 hours (from Tuesday 8:00am to Wednesday 8:00am), taking the total number of fatalities from the mosquito-borne disease to 36 this year.

In the recent deaths, one was reported in Dhaka South City Corporation, while another was recorded in Rajshahi division (outside the city corporation).

During the period, 326 more patients were hospitalised with viral fever, raising the total cases to 8,870 to date this year, the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said in a statement today (June 25).

Of the new cases, highest 118 were reported in Barishal division (outside the city corporation), 43 in Chattogram (outside the city corporation), 43 in Dhaka (outside the city corporation), 26 in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC), and 45 in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC).

Besides, 16 cases were recorded in Khulna division (outside the city corporation), 5 in Mymensingh (outside the city corporation), 29 in Rajshahi (outside the city corporation), and one in Sylhet division (outside the city corporation).
