Two more deaths were reported from dengue in the last 24 hours (from Wednesday 8:00am to Thursday 8:00am), taking the total number of fatalities from the mosquito-borne disease to 38 this year.
The new two deaths were reported in Dhaka South City Corporation.
During the period, 195 more patients were hospitalised with viral fever, raising the total cases to 9,065 to date this year, the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said in a statement today (June 26).
Of the new cases, highest 74 were reported in Barishal division (outside the city corporation), 8 in Chattogram (outside the city corporation), 30 in Dhaka (outside the city corporation), 28 in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC), and 32 in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC).
Besides, 2 cases were recorded in Mymensingh division (outside the city corporation), 18 in Rajshahi (outside the city corporation), and 3 in Sylhet division (outside the city corporation).
