Expats send $2.5b remittance in 28 days of June

The expatriate Bangladeshis sent around $253.92 crore (about Tk 30,978 crore) in remittances in the first 28 days of June.

The country received about Tk 1,106 crore on average every day, according to the latest data of Bangladesh Bank on Sunday, June 29.

Remittances through state-owned and specialised banks are accounted for $91.77 crore, while private and foreign banks received $161.61 crore and foreign banks received $53.70 lakh.

The remittance inflow from July to June 28 of the current fiscal year 2024-25 rose by $26.05 per cent than that of the same period of the last FY 2023-24 when the expatriates sent $23.74 billion.
