PRAN to host Mango Fest celebrating Bangladesh’s heritage with flavour, festivity

As the monsoon rains usher in Bangladesh’s beloved mango season, PRAN Group is gearing up to host the country’s largest-ever mango celebration, the PRAN Mango Fest, from July 10–12 at Rabindra Sarobar in Dhanmondi, Dhaka.

This three-day extravaganza promises to immerse visitors in the vibrant world of Bangladeshi mangoes, showcasing varieties sourced directly from farmers in the mango heartlands of Rajshahi, Chapainawabganj, and Natore.

With free entry, cultural performances, games, and a spotlight on the heritage of the nation’s favourite fruit, the festival aims to blend tradition with modern festivity.

Announced at a press conference on Wednesday at PRAN Group’s Badda headquarters, the festival will run daily from 10:00am to 8:00pm, offering a sensory feast for mango lovers and families alike.

Visitors can explore and purchase every mango variety grown in Bangladesh, from the luscious Langra to the sweet Himsagar, while learning about their origins and cultural significance.

The event will feature interactive games, traditional performances, and live music, with headliners like the iconic rock band Warfaze, popular singer Oyshee, and other renowned artists lighting up the cultural evenings.

Eleash Mridha, Managing Director of PRAN Group, emphasised the festival’s dual mission of celebration and economic impact. “PRAN is Bangladesh’s largest mango buyer, sourcing from 10,000 contract farmers to produce juices, drinks, mango bars, and pickles available year-round,” he said.

“This festival is a platform for farmers from our mango-rich districts to share the taste, tradition, and stories of their produce with the younger generation. It’s about pride in our agricultural heritage.”

Mridha highlighted the booming mango industry, noting that the market for mango-based products in Bangladesh is now valued at approximately Tk 1,500 crore ($125 million).

With PRAN exporting mango products to 148 countries, the festival also serves as a branding push to elevate Bangladeshi mangoes globally.

“International demand is growing, and we’re committed to taking our mangoes to every corner of the world,” he added, citing PRAN’s exports of juices, bars, and pickles as a source of national pride.

Mahmudul Hasan Zisha, Head of Marketing at Agricultural Marketing Company Limited (AMCL)-PRAN, underscored the festival’s appeal to younger audiences.

“This is our first-ever mango festival, designed to be a vibrant celebration with cultural shows, games, and engaging activities. We want it to be a joyful experience that connects people with the legacy of our mangoes,” he said.

The event’s inclusive, free-entry model aims to draw diverse crowds, from urban youth to families seeking a cultural outing.

The festival comes at a time when Bangladesh’s agricultural sector is gaining global attention, with PRAN leveraging its extensive farmer network to drive economic growth.

Mahabub Alam, Senior Manager (Operations) at AMCL, along with Omar Bin Zubair, Assistant Brand Manager, and Tanjibul Hoque Tushar, Sub Assistant Brand Manager of PRAN Beverages, joined the press conference, signalling the company’s unified push to make the event a landmark celebration.

Beyond the festivities, PRAN Mango Fest reflects a broader narrative of agricultural empowerment and global ambition.

As Bangladesh prepares for its 2026 graduation from Least Developed Country status, initiatives like this underscore the nation’s efforts to brand its agricultural exports and compete on the world stage.

For now, Dhaka’s Rabindra Sarobar is set to become a vibrant hub where the humble mango takes centre stage, weaving together tradition, commerce, and celebration.

PRAN Group is set to arrange country’s biggest mango festival named ‘PRAN Mango Fest’ from July 10 at Rabindra Sarobar in Dhanmondi, Dhaka. The three-day festival will showcase a wide variety of locally grown mangoes, directly brought by farmers from renowned mango-producing regions like Rajshahi, Chapainawabganj and Natore.
