Elections may be held before Ramadan

The 13th parliamentary elections may be held before Ramadan if all preparations, including necessary reforms, are completed, according to Chief Adviser's Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam. 

He made this statement during a press briefing at the Foreign Service Academy on Bailey Road in the capital on Wednesday (July 9) evening.

Alam stated that Chief Adviser Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus has directed law enforcement agencies to finalize all preparations for the 13th National Parliament elections by December. He emphasized that a reshuffle in field administration, including deputy commissioners, superintendents of police, officers-in-charge of police stations, and upazila nirbahi officers, has been ordered before the elections. This reshuffle will be conducted randomly.

Deputy Press Secretary Abul Kalam Azad Majumder and Senior Assistant Press Secretary Foyez Ahammed were also present at the press conference.

According to Shafiul Alam, the Chief Adviser issued several key instructions, with the primary directive being to ensure all law and order preparations for the elections are completed by December.
