The Anti-Discrimination Students Movement has announced a blockade programme in key points across the country protesting against the attacks on the convoy of National Citizen Party (NCP) in Gopalganj.
The announcement was made in a post on the organisation’s official Facebook page on Wednesday afternoon, July 16.
All units of the platform have been urged to observe the blockade along with people from all walks of life, including local student organisations and political parties.
Earlier this afternoon, the motorcade of NCP leaders came under attack in Gopalganj Municipal Park in the district town.
The attack was carried out allegedly by activists of the banned Awami League and its student wing, Chhatra League, followed an earlier assault on the NCP’s rally stage, escalating tensions in the city.
Later, NCP leaders, including convener Nahid Islam, southern chief organizer Hasnat Abdullah, and northern chief organizer Sarjis Alam, took refuge in the Gopalganj Circuit House.
