Two more deaths were reported from dengue in the last 24 hours (from Tuesday 8:00am to Wednesday 8:00am), taking the total number of fatalities from the mosquito-borne disease to 60 this year.
Of the new deaths, one was reported in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) and another in Barishal division (outside the city corporation).
During the period, 321 more patients were hospitalised with viral fever, raising the total cases to 15,906 to date this year, the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said in a statement today (July 16).
Of the new cases, highest 110 were reported in Barishal division (outside city corporation), 31 in Chattogram division (outside city corporation), 9 in Dhaka division (outside city corporation), 27 in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC), and 47 in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC).
Besides, 27 cases were recorded in Khulna division (outside city corporation), 10 in Mymensingh division (outside of city corporation), 57 in Rajshahi division (outside of city corporation), 2 in Rangpur division (outside of city corporation) and 1 in Sylhet division (outside of city corporation).
