Two more deaths were reported from dengue in the last 24 hours (from Tuesday 8:00am to Wednesday 8:00am), taking the total number of fatalities from the mosquito-borne disease to 81 this year.
The new deaths were reported in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC).
During the period, 386 more patients were hospitalised with viral fever, raising the total cases to 20,702 to date this year, the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said in a statement today (July 30).
Of the new cases, 106 were reported in Barishal division (outside the city corporation), 64 in Chattogram division (outside the city corporation), 62 in Dhaka division (outside the city corporation), 29 in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC), 49 in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), and 23 in Khulna division (outside the city corporation).
Besides, five were reported in Mymensingh division (outside the city corporation), 45 in Rajshahi division (outside the city corporation), and three in Rangpur division (outside the city corporation).
