The fire erupted at Sundarban Square Market in Dhaka's Gulistan has been brought under control.
The firefighters brought the fire under control around 11:12am on Saturday, August 2.
The fire broke out on the fifth floor of the market at about 10:00am, said Talha Bin Jashim, acting officer (media cell) at Fire Service and Civil Defence.
Shortly after the incident, 11 units of the fire extinguishers rushed to the spot and tried to douse the blaze, he said.
However, the cause of the fire could not be known yet.
