The National Citizen Party (NCP) is set to launch its foundational 24-point vision manifesto, titled "A New Bangladesh", in a major public rally at the Central Shaheed Minar in Dhaka on Sunday, August 3.
The announcement was made by Nahid Islam, the party’s convener, during a hurriedly arranged press conference held Saturday afternoon at the NCP’s central office in Banglamotor.
The manifesto, crafted as both a tribute and a blueprint, honours the spirit of the 2024 mass uprising that catalysed the formation of the party and reshaped the nation’s political landscape.
The 24 points are designed to symbolically reflect the values, struggles, and aspirations of that transformative movement.
According to senior party insiders, the document lays out a comprehensive roadmap for rebuilding and reimagining Bangladesh across critical sectors, including: Foreign policy and diplomatic renewal; food security and agricultural resilience; education reform and digital learning; universal healthcare access; economic restructuring and inclusive growth; anti-corruption and institutional accountability; engagement with the Bangladeshi diaspora; smart urban development and climate-resilient cities; and integration of artificial intelligence and digital governance.
“The manifesto is not just a political statement—it’s a national contract with the people,” said a senior NCP leader, speaking on condition of anonymity. “It’s structured like an electoral platform, but its vision extends far beyond elections. This is about shaping the next decade of Bangladesh.”
