The BNP has yet to give any official reaction on the 'July Declaration' unveiled by the Chief Adviser Prof Muhammad Yunus as the Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami expressed its dissatisfaction over the proclamation.
"We have no reaction for now. The Chief Adviser will address the nation tonight, then, we will think what reaction we would give," BNP's Standing Committee Member Selima Rahman told Jago News on Tuesday night, August 5.
The party's media cell member Shairul Kabir Khan said no reaction will be made now. "If BNP needs to react after Chief Adviser's address to nation, you will be notified."
Earlier this afternoon, Chief Adviser Dr Muhammad Yunus formally read out the July Declaration at a solemn ceremony marking the first anniversary of the July Uprising on the South Plaza of the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban.
The event, attended by national leaders, civil society representatives, student coordinators, and citizens from across the country, commemorated the historic mass movement that led to the fall of the previous government.
