Police have arrested three more suspects in connection with the murder of journalist Asaduzzaman Tuhin in Gazipur. Gazipur Metropolitan Police conducted raids in different areas on Friday night (August 8) and made the arrests.
The detainees are Shahjalal, 25, son of Hanif Mia from Anantapur in Homna upazila of Cumilla; Md Foysal Hasan, 23, son of Kiamuddin Hasan from Panchbariya in Pabna; and another suspect named Suman, who was arrested with a machete and a switchgear knife. Police said the arrestees were directly involved in Tuhin’s killing.
Shahjalal was arrested from Char Mosland Morolpara in Gafargaon upazila of Mymensingh, while Foysal was held from a rented house owned by Rafiqul Islam at Mahbub School Mor in Chandana area of Ward No. 17 in Gazipur.
With these arrests, the total number of people detained in the case has risen to seven, confirmed Gazipur Metropolitan Police Additional Commissioner Zahid Hasan.
Earlier, Gazipur Metropolitan Police and the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) had arrested four other suspects directly linked to the killing of journalist Tuhin.
