Three construction workers were killed and two others injured as the roof of a building collapsed in Netrakona on Thursday afternoon, August 14.
The deceased were identified as Dipu Mia, resident of Palashhati village, Hannan Mia of Holud Hati village in Sadar upazila, and Salam Mia of Abhaypasha village in Atpara upazila.
The incident occurred around 4:30pm when the workers were demolishing an old building at the District Irrigation Office, Netrakona.
After the incident, the Fire Service personnel recovered the bodies and rescued the injured, Netrakona model police station’s officer-in-charge Quazi Shahnewaz said.
The additional deputy commissioner, Rafiquzzaman, visited the spot, he said.
