A BNP delegation is holding a meeting with Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) AMM Nasir Uddin on Sunday, August 17, to discuss the progress of preparation to hold the next general election.
The delegation, led by BNP Standing Committee Member Nazrul Islam Khan, went to the Nirbachan Bhaban this afternoon.
BNP Chairperson's Adviser Islamil Jabihullah and Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi are also in the team.
Earlier, Chief Adviser Prof Muhammad Yunus had announced that the 13th parliamentary elections will take place in the first half of February next year.
The interim government also wrote to the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) in this regard.
