A fire that broke out at the Eureka filling station in Mohakhali, Dhaka, has been brought under control. The blaze was extinguished within 29 minutes thanks to swift emergency response.
According to the Fire Service and Civil Defence, 10 fire-fighting units were deployed to the scene.
The fire was fully contained by 7:47 pm, just 29 minutes after it was first reported at 7:18 pm.
Rashed Bin Khalid, duty officer at the Fire Service Control Room, confirmed the timeline, stating that three initial units arrived promptly and began operations. Seven additional units were later dispatched to reinforce the effort.
“The quick response from our teams prevented the fire from spreading and potentially causing a major disaster,” he said.
The exact cause of the fire and the extent of the damage remain under investigation, and fire officials have not yet released further details.
The incident has raised concerns about safety standards at fuel stations in densely populated urban areas. Authorities are expected to conduct a thorough inspection of the site in the coming days.
