BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, who underwent seven days of medical treatment in Thailand, has once again fallen ill and been admitted to hospital after returning to the country.
According to BNP’s media cell, he was admitted to United Hospital in the capital at around 1:00am on Wednesday (August 20).
BNP media cell member Shairul Kabir Khan said Fakhrul arrived at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Tuesday evening and later attended a meeting in Gulshan until 11:00pm. He began to feel unwell afterwards, and around 1:00am he was admitted to United Hospital.
BNP Standing Committee member Professor Dr AZM Zahid accompanied him to the hospital. Fakhrul was admitted under the care of Professor Dr NAM Momenuzzaman and kept under observation.
At 2:20am, Dr Zahid said, “Alhamdulillah, he is now doing well.”
